COVID-19 information for NDSF user community
Following guidance from UNOLS and our host site Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), the National Deep Submergence Facility is monitoring the situation related to COVID-19 closely and taking appropriate actions to keep our team and users safe.
We are in the process of bringing all vehicles back to their home port in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. HOV Alvin is in Woods Hole for a scheduled overhaul. ROV Jason and AUV Sentry are in Fiji and will be transported back as soon as it is possible.
Currently WHOI’s physical campus is closed, therefore all NDSF staff and personnel are working remotely until further notice.
We wish our community of deep ocean researchers and their family and friends health and safety during this crisis. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the vehicle managers or contact us at ndsf@whoi.edu.
